term2 week2 journal reflection

Dear journal,
Today, the teacher explained to us about excellence. We must strive for exellence if we want to achieve good results. It is important to strive for excellence so that we work harder to achieve our goals. Excellence is also about doing our best. It is okay if we do not come in first but we must always give it our best shot!

Dear Journal,
Today, I am going to talk about the swimming carnival last week. In our class, only Emily participated in the swimming carnival. I played some water games in the medium sized pool while the swimming carnival was held in the biggest one. Emily is a very fast and graceful swimmer. That is why she came in first for all the events that she paticipated in. She also trains everyday. Although I know how to swim as well, I have only passed sliver. I have also quit swimming. Now, I am so happy that the CA1 exam is over and the holidays are here. I am quite contented with my results. Guess hard work pays off after all!

Dear Journal,
Yesterday, Ms Lee taught us about world war 2 when the Japanese invaded Singapore. The war started in Europe in1939. The war began when Germany invaded Poland. Britain and France joined Poland in the war against Germany.The war quickly spread to many countries in Europe and North Africa. Japanese wanted to conquer countries in Southeast Asia to get food and raw materials. So,they decided to invade Malaya and Singapore. One of the war heros is Lieutenant Adan Saidi. He led a platoon of the Malay Regiment to protect the area at Pasir Panjang Ridge. Adnan was tied to a cherry tree and bayoneted to death after losing a firece battle with the Japanese. The Japanese Occupation ended when the USA joined the war on the side of the allied Forces and dropped bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. both cities were destroyed. The Japanese were forced to surrender.Finally the war was over.
